Many admins and developers who get training in Sales Cloud and join a nonprofit team are not even aware of NPSP Settings. These are crucial to understand to modify Salesforce to fit a nonprofit’s needs.

Adjusting settings, which you can do declaratively, adjusts automation programmed via Apex as part of the NPSP managed package.

The settings can be found by clicking on a tab from the NPSP app or searching for NPSP Settings using the App Launcher. Once there, your menu will look like this:
